Food for Thought: Making Cents of Finance
The Food for Thought discussion series continues virtually on Thursday, August 20, with a conversation about personal finance between Chris Browning, creator and host of the podcast Popcorn Finance; and Financial Hype Woman Berna Anat. Sharing tips and suggestions about various ways people can find financial stability in their life, speakers will answer questions submitted anonymously ahead of time, covering topics such as: creating and balancing a personal budget, saving for retirement, beginner investment strategies, and creating a financial safety net.
The event will take place on @BFPLNY’s Instagram Live, as part of #BFPLatHome digital programming.
The Food for Thought monthly series explores themes related to wellness and sustainability. Hear from influential voices from various fields and be a part of the conversation during the Q&A segment. This series will take place digitally on the third Thursday of each month, through November 2020.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
Chris Browning is the creator and host of the award-winning, short-form podcast, Popcorn Finance. Each week he discusses finance with amazing guests in about the time it takes to make a bag of popcorn. Topics range from understanding the basics of investing, all the way to his love of tiny homes. Browning holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance with an emphasis in financial planning and still maintains his position as a financial analyst specializing in revenue analysis.
Berna Anat is a Financial Hype Woman, which is her made-up way of saying she creates financial education media that lives at @HeyBerna all over the Internet. After slaying her $50,000 debt, she saved up to quit life and has been traveling the world trying to make money fun again ever since. Berna has dropped her money mic at venues such as the Google, the Girlboss Rally and The Wing, and her work has been featured on platforms such as Forbes, The New York Times, and Buzzfeed. Berna was recently named one of ABS-CBN’s Global Pinoy Idols, awarded to the 10 most influential Filipinx people in the United States. Yes, she’s Filipina. Yes, she’s sure.
