Food for Thought: Conscious By Design
Our Food for Thought discussion series continues virtually on Thursday, September 17, as we partner with Theory, who recently launched their platform Theory for Good: Conscious by Design, which is a conscious commitment to create sustainable solutions for their products, people and planet. This conversation on eco-friendly fashion will take place between the brand’s SVP and Global Head of Raw Materials and Sustainability, Wendy Waugh; and photojournalist, sustainable fashion blogger, and labor rights activist, Aditi Mayer. In recent years there’s become a growing awareness of the level of pollution and environmental damage brought about by the fashion industry. As clothing labels and retailers work steadily to become more environmentally-friendly and to examine their own supply chains, production methods, and recycling plans, there is a growing desire by consumers to put their dollars behind companies with sustainable missions and products. Join us as the two speakers discuss the future of fashion and sustainability and answer questions submitted anonymously from the public ahead of time.
The event will take place on @BFPLNY’s Instagram Live, as part of #BFPLatHome digital programming.
The Food for Thought monthly series explores themes related to wellness and sustainability. Hear from influential voices from various fields and be a part of the conversation during the Q&A segment. This series will take place digitally on the third Thursday of each month, through November 2020.
