ace&jig is a textile love story. In 2009, designers Jenna Wilson and Cary Vaughan set out to create a seasonless women's collection from our own yarn-dye, woven fabric. They work one-on-one with weavers in India to create timeless garments from their own textile designs, as interesting in texture as in color and pattern. Their aim is to create effortless clothing that can be worn many ways, for many years. Colors and silhouettes shift, but each collection is anchored by the stripe. ace&jig believes yarn-dye stripes, whether created by alternating textures or through pops of saturated color, are an iconic and timeless medium, and an endless source for reinvention.
Exclusive Fabrics: Every ace&jig textile is custom designed by ace&jig and created working one-on-one with weavers in India on ancient wooden handlooms. The textile creation process takes about one year from creative concept to final garment in hand. It is a very long and painstaking labor of love, involving many myriads of hands in what has become one giant extended family between India and the USA. Their process is truly slow fashion. Once a textile is woven, off the loom and used up - it's gone forever. This has created modern heirloom textiles that are beloved and passed along - never disposable. Scrap textiles are re-imagined from the cutting room floor into more products. As part of their No Waste sustainable ethos, each scrap of fabric is used in a meaningful way.
