Hudson Eats

The Food for Thought series continues in-person at Hudson Eats on October 28 from 6:30-7:30 PM.

Dating was hard enough pre-pandemic and let’s be honest, it hasn’t gotten any easier. So let’s talk about it!

For our final Food For Thought of 2021 we’re bringing in Maria Avgitidis Matchmaker Maria, CEO of Agape Match, and Lindsey Metselaar of the We Met at Acme podcast to answer all your questions about dating and relationships, and how to navigate finding ‘the one’ in this new era.

Please note: seating will be available on a first come, first served basis. Standing room will also be available if you arrive late!

Submit a question!

We know you’re eager to get all your dating questions answered. Become a part of the discussion and submit your question anonymously to Matchmaker Maria and Lindsey!

We also hope you can join us this month on Thursday, September 30 at 5:30 PM with guest speaker and communication expert Caitlin Harper, founder of communication consultancy Commcoterie, along with Jen Jamula, founder of GoldJAM Creative, who will discuss how to best communicate and collaborate effectively in the workplace to strengthen your relationships and succeed.

Maria Avgitidis, better known as “Matchmaker Maria” is the CEO of Agape Match, a matchmaking service based in NYC. For over 13 years, Maria has successfully combined four generations of family matchmaking tradition with modern relationship psychology and search techniques to ensure her professional clientele are introduced to their ultimate match. She is also the co-Founder of the Matchmakers Alliance, a trade association that promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing for professional matchmakers and dating coaches. Maria and Agape Match have been featured in The New York Times, The Financial Times, Washington Post, CNN, and Vice. She has been a guest on popular podcasts, such as Girls Gotta Eat and U Up? and is the host of the weekly podcast Ask a Matchmaker.

Lindsey Metselaar is a native New Yorker, CEO of Lindsey’s Lunchbox, and host of the popular dating podcast, We Met At Acme. After many dating experiences, Lindsey felt it was imperative to create this podcast and shed a light on this touchy subject. Since creating We Met At Acme, Lindsey has learned more about dating than she had ever hoped. On WMAA, she talks with experts, friends, celebrities, and people of all walks of life to learn about what their dating experience has been.

The year 2020 was like no other, and we found ourselves pressing pause, pivoting, disconnecting, and disengaging. We spent time focused inward on our physical and mental health. Moving forward in 2021, we are coming up for air, and figuring out how we press play on our lives. The Food for Thought series kicked off 2021 with its pursuit of three goals – to restart, revive, and reconnect.
