Celebrate summer by exploring a selection of wines on the waterfront, during Portside’s exclusive wine tasting event!
Connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike can indulge in a delightful experience that includes a curated selection of wines and light bites that provides the perfect setting to do something fun with friends or co-workers!
Due to the event layout, each $50 ticket is a reservation for a party of two (2 individuals), per session. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate reservations for individuals. Please note that reservations are non-refundable.

ABOUT THE WINE:
BFPL Vineyard will offer guests the chance to try four organically- farmed wines that all hail from coastal vineyards across Europe—from the windswept Canary Islands to volcanic Sicily and granite-rich Muscadet. Each wine reflects its seaside terroir, offering freshness, minerality, and energy across white, rosé, orange, and chilled red styles.
- WHITE: Domaine de la Pépière Muscadet Sèvre et Maine “Clisson” 2022 – Loire, France
Structured and mineral-driven with racy acidity and a long, saline finish. - ROSÉ: Los Bermejos Rosado 2024 – Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain
Salty and electric with delicate red fruit and volcanic tension. - ORANGE: Salvatore Marino Catarratto “Turi” 2023 – Sicily, Italy
Expressive and herbal with orchard fruit, wildflowers, and a coastal lift. - CHILLED RED: Biscaris Frappato 2023 – Sicily, Italy

- Tickets are on sale in advance for each session HERE, through Eventbrite. This event will not be accommodating walk ins.
- Your $50 ticket for two will include:
- A flight of four different expertly-curated coastal wines for each individual.
- Complimentary light bites.
- Up to 1 hour to enjoy Portside and take in views of the Hudson River at sunset.
- A fun BFPL giveaway to take home, while supplies last.
- Multiple reservations must be purchased separately on Eventbrite.
ABOUT THE SOMMELIER:
Joe Campanale is an acclaimed sommelier, restaurateur, and author known for his warm hospitality, deep wine expertise, and commitment to authentic Italian cuisine. He is the founder and co-owner of some of New York City’s most beloved restaurants, including Fausto and LaLou in Brooklyn, and formerly dell’anima, L’Artusi, and Anfora in Manhattan’s West Village.
A certified sommelier and passionate wine educator, Joe has earned national recognition for building thoughtful, award-winning wine programs that prioritize small producers, sustainable farming, and lesser-known regions. His first book, Vino: The Essential Guide to Real Italian Wine, was published in 2022 to critical acclaim and is a go-to resource for both casual drinkers and serious wine professionals.
Known for his engaging presence and approachable expertise, Joe regularly leads wine tastings, dinners, and educational events across the country. He has been featured in The New York Times, Bon Appétit, Food & Wine, and Wine Enthusiast, and was named a Food & Wine “Sommelier of the Year.”
